Product Designer :4名

Main purpose and scope of role

• To help start and then work as part of a small flexible embedded systems design team, primarily focused on High Definition video processing embedded systems.
• Primarily responsible for the design of schematics and PCB design of video conversion products.
• Design of intuitive man machine interfaces based on common video applications, and focused on ease of operation for the users.

• Production of design concept documentation and continuous code documentation linked with peer reviews.
• Participation in design reviews, and to assist in ensuring that project targets with regard to cost and timelines are met.

• Fully Interact with the UK Engineering team and with Asian Production houses to ensure smooth and accurate design transfer to production and interaction

Duties to include, but not limited to

• Documentation – input into product specifications and generation of design documentation including costing and design concepts.
• PCB designs including schematic capture and BoM.
• Design of multilayer PCBs including uBGA & other fine pitch packages.
• Management of CAD libraries.
• Creation of BoMs, PCB files, provide assembly drawings, procedures and CAM data for electronic PCB manufacture and test.
• Participation in design reviews.
• Ensure targets are met for Cost, Timelines, Design for manufacture, Design for fit, and worldwide product compliance.

Qualifications

A numerate degree with several years of hands-on video design experience.

Experience & Job Knowledge

• Fluent in English, spoken and written.
• Fully versed in Mentor Graphics PAD’s design Suite for PCB, Router and Schematic design
• Comfortable with hardware debugging and a good understanding of schematics
• Knowledge of Video Processing and standards
• Experienced in product design cycles from concept, through design, qualification and production
• Awareness of compliance standards associated with electronic product design
